KC West is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is the Owner and CEO of Clinical Counseling Services—an outpatient, community-based mental health agency—in Las Vegas, Nevada and Saint George, Utah.
She is also the owner and founder of A Balanced You Wellness Center--bringing holistic health care to the Henderson and Las Vegas community with personalized services that address your own unique and individual needs
KC started her college career attending Utah State University, where she completed her Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Psychology and minor in Family and Human Development.
After completing her Bachelor’s Degree, KC volunteered for one year as an AmeriCorps VISTA, which is a program intended to provide relief to individuals who are impoverished. This volunteer position required that KC take an oath of poverty. Through this first-hand experience, KC was able to learn the struggles individuals encounter while navigating social services systems.
She continued her educational career attending Graduate School at the University of Utah. KC earned her Master of Social Work. KC began her experience providing counseling during her master’s program. KC completed two internship programs; one in the public school system and one in a community mental health agency. KC then went on to complete her licensure as an LCSW.
KC worked for 7 years for the State of Utah in the Department of Human Services in the Child Welfare system. During this time, KC won the Richard Anderson Child Welfare Award for her devoted work to children and families in the community.
Later, KC relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada; where she continued her career in social work. KC worked in home hospice and later took a position at a psychiatric hospital. KC developed programs for the adolescent unit in the psychiatric hospital, and later accepted a position as the Program Coordinator working for outpatient services for the psychiatric hospital. Outpatient services was a program which transitioned individuals from the inpatient setting back into the community through intensive outpatient services. KC had the opportunity to develop outpatient programming as well as being the direct provider for services.
KC then started her journey toward private practice. She worked as a contractor for a community based outpatient agency while developing her private practice. She learned that there is such a demand for mental health services in Las Vegas, KC was inspired to open her own outpatient mental health agency—Clinical Counseling Services.
KC developed a vision to create a one stop shop for wellness. She collaborated with a group of wellness practitioners to create A Balanced You Wellness Center-- Executive Suites specifically created for practitioners working in the wellness industry.
She has expanded her practice into Saint George, UT and continues to look forward to serving both communities.
